I have been working hard finishing off a couple of large projects this year and at the moment have a length on the loom which in the fullness of time will be made into a unlined jacket prototype.  

​I also have designs and ideas to weave Christian names into scarves, and that is ready to go.  

​I also want to weave small intricate pieces for framing.  Plenty to get on with.  I have 2 shows arranged one at the end of June and another (Shop Within the Show) with the Society in July.  

Well it has been another very quick year, but I have achieved quite a bit.

​I have attended a couple of shows or fairs which is just really attempting to find the best venues for me as an artist.  It is also 'networking' which is important and a source of information as I am relatively new on the scene.

​The real progress this year is the 'library' I have built in 2 box files of my own designs and structures with appropriate samples.  It is therefore so much easier to find the right design for the current piece of work with the related inspiration.  

​I am embarking on a 'prototype' unstructured jacket in the new year.  One of the proposed services I could offer is a length of cloth with a suggested end project for the customer if they know of a dressmaker or are indeed one themselves.

​I also intend to weave art pieces for framing.  I have designs using the extra weft technique which would lend themselves beautifully to this process.

Very tiring 4 days, the weather was glorious.  Very organised show.  Meet some lovely people, worked alongside some too.  Came away energised, with new ideas and areas of focus.

Not long now until the Henley Handmade Fair at Stonor Park.  25-28 August, Friday to Monday Bank Holiday.  Feel like I have been working towards it for ever!  

​I hope the weather improves a little for the people planning to visit us.  

Working on some interesting designs which will become scarves in due course.  Will concentrate on weaving now for a few months.  I get carried away with designing, I really enjoy it. 

I'm a bit behind with the blog again, however, life has been busy, rather that than not. 

I am working on a few narrower width scarves for a show in Henley I have enrolled for to take place during August Bank Holiday, so it is all go. 

I have been particlularly pleased with the following 'morphing' designs. 

The first one is cashmere on Soysilk and the second is cashmere and wool on Soysilk.

Above is one of the 'Infinity' scarves I have been working on.  Indeed these were blogged about below.  The designs are all original and many of them 'morph'.  They are cosy as they do not slip like conventional scarves do.  However, everything has a use and a place. 

I have double figures in these items now with more designs to go, some quite complex.   The one below is interesting as it has a raised texture due to the structure.  Not one item I make is like another.  However, sometimes I use the structure in another yarn and colourway which will create a totally different 'take' on the eventual item.

I have just about finished all the items I wanted to make for the show.  The cushions below will make a colourful display on the table along with everything else. 

A good friend has volunteered to help me set up the table and support me on the day, which is great.  It will give me the opportunity to visit the other tables, over 40 of us in all.  Christmas presents will be uppermost on my mind!

Pieces of mine unsold will be uploaded onto my Etsy Shop in due course. 

These two cowls turned out quite pleasing and as they are wool and cashmere on cotton and should be comfortable to wear as soft.   Like the others I have completed, they are long enough to wrap around the neck twice.   The basket weave design creates an interesting texture.

I shall probably have enough time to complete another warp with another 2 unique cowls for the Farnham Show.  However, I still have many cushions to make up, far more than I will require for the Show, but then I will have plenty of stock behind me, some more of which can be listed in my Etsy shop when time allows. 

This year has been a good year for design work, in my opinion. 

It is a while since I have blogged unfortunately.  It has been a very busy time for me.  I am at the above mentioned Royal Fete on Sunday 12 June - this weekend - from 10 am - 4 pm.

I was asked through my Etsy shop to participate.  However, it meant designing and making a different range of products for it, which has taken time,  always more time than anticipated.  However, I am ready and as this is my first selling fete, a little excited, especially as it will prepare me for another larger fair in Farnham later in the year. 

I was signed up for another 2 larger fairs, but for various reasons they have folded, which was a little disappointing.  However, in hindsight, it is enough for this year and I might look for another nearer Christmas time.
