First Bag

I was ages making this bag!  I thought about so many options before I proceeded at each stage.
A cross body bag was what I personally wanted after a holiday, but something light in weight and easy to pack.  I wanted a safe internal pocket for my passport and room to carry essentials around with me on a daily basis.
And so I designed this, one of which is on Etsy in my shop.  It also has the option of becoming a shoulder bag by adjusting the slider, but cross body is so much more convenient.
It is an original hand-dyed, hand-woven piece, as is all my work.  The strap is cotton webbing and the lining and flap etc are cotton calico, all hand-dyed.
I'm pleased with it and it has been a sound learning curve for future ventures.

I have been sampling a few of my 'maze' inspired structures using a graduated colours warp, which is in keeping with the uneven colours of weathered metal.  I have decided to have an installation of six panels for the final MAde Show.  I have various combinations of structures for this, and am undecided yet which way to go with them.  I want all the elements to be in place by Easter so that I have plenty of time for the weaving as well as the other tasks I will be undertaking in the final project.
